Project Monitoring Activities (March - December 2018)

In order to mentor/monitor the project activities a Project Monitoring Committee was appointed involving senior staff to carryout regular project monitoring activitiy. The PMC involves the following staff to meet regularly and monitor the activities of the centre.

1.The first PMC Meeting was conducted on 24th April 2018 to discuss the administrative requirement for setting up of the 11 projects and also the manpower requirements for handling these projects apart from day to day affairs of the centre.
2.The first stakeholder's workshop on NTCPWC was conducted on 28th April 28, 2018 at IIT Madras. The workshop focused on the strategic plan of the centre, technology developments and also the activities that will be carried out under the different sub-projects planned as part of the centre activity.
3.The first review meeting of the NTCPWC was held on 13th June 2018 to discuss the office space and the research facility lab requirements.
4.The second review meeting of the NTCPWC was held on 23rd June 2018 to review the office space and the research facility lab requirements.
5.The first oversight committee meeting was held on the 5th July 2018 to review the overall project progress of NTCPWC and also the infrastructure, research facilities and projects in key areas from ports and inland waterways.
6.The second PMC meeting was held on the 14th Jan 2019.
7.The second oversight committee meeting was held on the 21st Jan 2019 to review the overall project progress of NTCPWC and also the infrastructure, research facilities and projects in key areas from ports and inland waterways.
8.The third PMC meeting was held on the 24th June 2019.
9.The third oversight committee meeting was held on the 08th July 2019 to review the overall project progress of NTCPWC and also the infrastructure, research facilities and projects in key areas from ports and inland waterways.
10.The fourth oversight committee meeting was held on the 05th November 2019 to review the overall project progress of NTCPWC and also the infrastructure, research facilities and projects in key areas from ports and inland waterways.

Infrastructure

The proposed location for setting up the NTCPWC will be at the Discovery campus located in Thaiyur, about 40 kms from the present IITM campus.
Interim arrangements were made in present campus at New Academic Complex located in IITM campus to accommodate Office space, Full bridge simulator and High Performance Computing laboratory.
